CSBR: Natural History: Digitizing and Conserving Specimens in the Manter Laboratory of Parasitology (Gardener Parasite)

This project, led by Principal Investigator Scott Gardner, proposes to process and conserve important biodiversity parasite survey collections by digitally capturing specimen-record data and transferring specimens into permanent-secure physical storage. This project also includes an outreach component, overseen by co-PI Judy Diamond, focused on educating the general public about parasites and providing Nebraska teachers with resources to support their biodiversity teaching.  Evaluation services provided by MERC include front-end, formative and summative evaluation to inform the development, effectiveness, and appeal of educational materials on parasites.
