State Partnership Initiative to Address Health Disparities (SPI)

This project is a partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Minority Health (OMH) and the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services Office of Health Disparities and Health Equity (OHDHE). The project aims to help reduce or eliminate barriers to health care and reduce diabetes disparities among Omaha and Winnebago American Indian Tribal populations in Thurston County, Nebraska. OHDHE works with the Omaha and Winnebago federally recognized Tribes of Nebraska to deliver the project in four phases: needs assessment, training, implementation, and analysis.

MERC maintains the projects data reporting system, provides training on the system as needed, and generates quarterly data reports for OMH.
