The UNL Summer Research Program (SRP) is comprised of NSF funded Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs) and other summer research opportunities programs (SROPs). This program is hosted by the Office of Graduate Studies. Through SRPs, undergraduate students are paired with faculty mentors and also receive mentorship from graduate student researchers in the lab for a 10-week period. This provides the students with a community of scholars in which to learn and to share research with, while also allowing scholars to preview graduate school life. Students with a strong interest in graduate programs are particularly encouraged to apply, as are those from populations traditionally underrepresented in graduate education.
MERC is providing evaluation support for this program. The evaluation includes pretest, posttest, and follow-up surveys focusing on participant perspectives, experiences, and likelihood to pursue graduate education.
