My name is Anuradha Choudhary, but, just call me Anu, it saves everyone a tongue twist. I recently completed my Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a specialization in Leadership Studies, where my dissertation focused on how formal mentoring shapes the professional identity development of early-career Extension professionals.

Before my doctoral studies in the U.S., I earned both my Master’s in Agricultural Extension Education and my undergraduate degree in Agriculture in India. My scholarly passions include community leadership development, Extension professional development, and program planning and evaluation.

When I’m not immersed in research, you’ll likely find me watching movies, experimenting in the kitchen, in the gym or walking with friends. I also dedicate time to creating health awareness and fitness content for social media-because leadership can start in the classroom and the gym.

Expertise

  • Extension Professional Development
  • Community & Leadership Development
  • Qualitative Research

Get to know Anu!

  1. What brought you to MERC?
    • Since joining the Ph.D. program at UNL, I became involved in evaluation work, which sparked my interest in building a career in this field. Toward the end of my Ph.D., I had conversations with my colleagues, Justine and Haden, who shared their positive experiences working with MERC. Their insights motivated me to join MERC to gain further exposure and strengthen my expertise in evaluation.
  2. Who or what inspires you to do your best?
    • Making a positive impact on someone’s life, even in a small way, inspires me to keep striving to do great things.
  3. What topic could you talk enthusiastically about for hours?
    • I can talk endlessly about healthy food habits and sustainable lifestyles. It’s one of my passions, and I often share scientific evidence to support my discussions (sometimes to the point of making my friends a little bored!).
